Our History

EEC Maranatha started as a small prayer group among the Congolese diaspora in the greater Toronto Area.

As the small prayer group received attention, the group formed into a powerful gathering of believers meeting from one location to another.

For more than 20 years, EEC Maranatha was located at downtown Toronto. As of June 2022, God blessed EEC Maranatha with a beautiful location in Oshawa, Ontario to continue the work of God.

Statement of Faith

The Holy Trinity

We believe in One God who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ

His Sacrifice: We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who came to earth, died for our sins, and rose again on the third day.
His Lordship: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Healer and the Savior of all who seek Him.
His Return: We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as the King of Kings for the glory of the Father.

The Power of the Spirit

Baptism & Fire: We believe in the Holy Ghost, the Fire of the Holy Spirit, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in diverse tongues.
Miracles: We believe in the continuation of miracles, signs, and wonders performed in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

The Hope of the Church

We believe in the Rapture of the Church and the Resurrection of the dead, looking forward to eternal life with our Creator.

Our vision & mission

At Maranatha Evangelical Christian Church, our vision is a global vision to bring many to God and transform lives for Jesus Christ. We believe in giving people the true and right knowledge of God's word and making them disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to prepare the people of God in true love and the fear of the Lord through faith, so that they are ready by grace for the return of our Messiah Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to share the truth about Jesus Christ as the one and only and Savior of humanity, as taught in the Bible. We strive to equip the Church with the knowledge and tools to better serve Him as His disciples until His return.
